Almost a month ago, I wrote a blog post about the Prairie Harvest here in northern Alberta, and about the harvest of souls that Jesus talked about in the first four books of the New Testament in the Bible.
I concluded that post by saying to you, my dear readers, that
“Next week, on the blog, we’re going to begin a focus on Intentionality and Influence…
Where do you see yourself reaping a harvest for God’s Kingdom?
Have you ever considered how God may have planted within you a passion for the way that you can invite those around you into God’s Big Story for them and for you?
Come and walk with us as we discover more about what that might look like!”
Life does not always go as planned, and so, here we are, a month later.
Life has been full these past few weeks. I’ll tell you about that later in this post, but for now, let’s begin to chat about what an intentional life focus could look like…
LIFE-Living in Full Expectation…
Life can be full of so much more.
More when we learn how to simplify and narrow our focus.
More when we know how God wants us to choose the best from all the good.
More when we begin to realize what it means to live in full expectation and hope.
You made a choice to read this particular blog post on this day.
You were drawn to the topic for some reason.
My desire for you would be that you would meet God here, possibly in a way you never have before.
LESSONS IN LIFE PACE AND LIFE SKILLS
God has been teaching me, as my pace of my life has radically changed in the past few years, a lot about living more intentionally.
He has also, out of those lessons, given me the opportunity to encourage other women in my sphere of influence to consider what living an intentional life could look like.
I am going to share with you some of how He is writing more of my part in His story.
I also hope to encourage and challenge you to consider some life-skill principles that might assist you as well.
BEGIN THE JOURNEY
Let’s journey together as we, together, ask God to come and teach us more of what it means to bring glory to Him as we:
Listen to His Words to us in the Bible-words that are our instruction manual.
Learn to fight the battle as His Warrior Princesses-we have an enemy who has a plan for our lives just as God does.
Live with purpose-in joy and intention right up until we walk into heaven at the end of our life.
*FAMILY-A little over a month ago, my Mom became very ill. She is struggling with a lot of health issues, and we wondered if God might be calling her home. Life went on hold for a few days as we flew down to visit her. It ended up that all of us siblings (there are five of us) made our way down to be with our parents.
It was a hard weekend—and good-byes were said, and yet, God has graciously allowed our Mom to regain strength and be able to return to the Seniors’ Lodge where she and my Dad recently moved…
We are so thankful for His mercy in her life.
*HEART2HEART DISCIPLESHIP, Becoming a Woman of Strength and Dignity–In the midst of this family crisis, Heart2Heart 17 was launched. We now have, for this year, fifty women participating as leaders and students in this class. God is good!
Some meet each week. Some meet two times a month. Some classes have up to fourteen members and some have only three. Some live in our city and some are doing the Distance Version. Some attend our church fellowship and some are joining us, looking at possibly beginning something similar in their own church next fall.
We desire this Discipleship Ministry to serve each woman where she is at in her physical, emotional, intellectual, and social life, but mostly in her intimate spiritual life of faith in God as her Audience of One.
As you can possibly imagine, this last month has been one of long hours at the computer as I have taken Years One and Two and re-launched to Year Three in order to accommodate all these various scenarios. I have loved the challenge but my brain and my heart have felt like they turned inside out and upside down in the process. We are also in the process of producing a Leaders’ Guide and a Workbook to help to make the curriculum more user-friendly.
I am so thankful for the privilege and opportunity to serve the God I believe in…
*FALL-The leaves have been falling quickly, and the weather has definitely become colder the past week or so. I love the days when I can put the fireplace on and basically watch the landscape change before my eyes as winter prepares to arrive.
I am thankful for quiet time to study and ponder and plan. It is such a blessing to see God’s plan open up more each day—to wait on His timing as I live in expectation and hope.
*Whose instruction manual have you been listening to? As you walk through this week, think about the events and schedule of your life and whether you need to spend more time listening to what God might want to say to you.
*Are you winning the battle as God’s Warrior Princess? Do you need to reconsider some of your strategies to live the life you desire?
In the Bible in Philippians 1:20,21, the Apostle Paul wrote some powerful words about his life goals,
As it is MY EAGER EXPECTATION AND HOPE that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage now as always Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or death.
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Thanks for walking with us. God bless as you enjoy the fall days!
